FAQ: Answers to Common Questions
Q: Should I start on an acoustic or electric guitar?
A: Either one is perfectly fine. The first factor in this decision is preference. Acoustic guitars typically require more finger strength to hold down the strings, so for very young students, a smaller scale electric guitar may be the better choice.
Q: I have little to no music experience. Is that ok?
A: Absolutely! It is never too late to get started. Lesson material ranges from beginner to advanced.
Q: I am a parent and am thinking about taking lessons with my child. Is that ok?
A: It sure is! Take advantage of our family discount and join your child for no extra charge. Knowing what your child is learning is great for being able to help them practice at home.
Q: How much should I be practicing?
A: The easy answer is the more the better! At a minimum, it is recommended that you practice 90 minutes per week; for example, 30 minutes on three different days. It is easier to retain information when you spread out your practice schedule.
